DMC Korifei

DMC Korifei is a medium-early simple hybrid of sweet corn with a FAO index of 250, developed by the Ukrainian company MAIS from the city of Dnipro. The hybrid was registered in the State Register of Ukraine since 2020 and is intended for cultivation in steppe, forest-steppe, and Polissia regions. It is characterized by high yield, ranging from 91 to 132 centners per hectare, as well as good adaptability to various climatic conditions, including drought, late frosts, and other stress factors. DMC Korifei is suitable for both intensive and minimized cultivation technologies, demonstrating high initial growth energy and good seed germination at minimum sowing temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees Celsius.

Plants of the hybrid reach an average height of about 240-260 cm, with cylindrical or conical-cylindrical ears located at a height of 80-100 cm from the base. The kernels are dent-shaped, yellow, and form in 14-16 rows. The hybrid is characterized by resistance to lodging and tolerance to major corn diseases such as gray leaf spot, helminthosporiosis, and stalk rot, as well as resistance to pests and weeds. Due to its strong leaf canopy and sturdy stem, DMC Korifei withstands adverse conditions and positively responds to fertilizer application.

The recommended planting density depends on the cultivation region: in steppe zones — 40-55 thousand plants per hectare, in forest-steppe — 60-70 thousand, and in Polissia — 70-90 thousand. The hybrid is suitable for both grain and silage production, especially in the Polissia region of Ukraine, where it demonstrates maximum performance under favorable moisture conditions. High drought and cold resistance, as well as resistance to pests, make DMC Korifei a reliable choice for farmers seeking a stable and high-quality harvest.
