Heliodor

Heliodor — a mid-season, simple hybrid of sugar corn with dent kernel type, intended for universal use with high yield potential for both grain and silage. Plants reach a height of 270–300 cm and are characterized by accelerated growth, promoting the formation of significant vegetative mass with high-quality silage. The hybrid exhibits excellent water shedding, ensuring timely maturity and facilitating harvest.

Heliodor has high cold resistance and rapid early growth, making it suitable for early planting. Additionally, the hybrid demonstrates excellent drought tolerance and high heat tolerance, allowing successful cultivation under various climatic conditions. It also shows increased tolerance to volatile and bubbly mold, as well as good resistance to corn borer, reducing the risk of yield loss due to pests and diseases.

Heliodor is recommended for cultivation in forest-steppe and northern and southern steppe zones, including minimum soil tillage and irrigation use. To achieve maximum yield (120–143 c/ha at 14% grain moisture), it is essential to observe optimal planting dates and avoid delays in harvest. The hybrid also exhibits excellent compensatory ability under sparse planting, enhancing yield stability.
