Bestseller 287 SV is a simple modified mid-early hybrid of sweet corn with FAO maturity group 280, developed by the Ukrainian company MAIS. The hybrid is characterized by high drought and heat tolerance, as well as resistance to common smut and corn borer, ensuring stable yields under various climatic conditions. Seeds are treated with a fungicidal protectant, further enhancing their protection and germination. Plant height reaches up to 240 cm, with light-yellow, dent-shaped kernels weighing 280–340 g per 1000 kernels. The potential yield is 12–15 tons per hectare, equivalent to 150 centners per hectare.
Hybrid Bestseller 287 SV features medium intensity of kernel drying after biological maturity and medium moisture loss, allowing it to be effectively used for both grain production and silage. The recommended planting density is 55,000–65,000 plants per hectare, with a minimum soil temperature for planting of 10–12 °C. Due to its high cold tolerance in early development stages, the hybrid is suitable for early planting even under short-term cold spells.
Optimal growing zones include the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe regions, as well as areas in Ukraine such as Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv. High resistance to diseases and pests, along with adaptability to various soil-climatic conditions, make Bestseller 287 SV a reliable choice for farmers seeking a stable and high-quality yield.
