Corn Atlant is a mid-early hybrid with FAO 290, registered in the Ukrainian Plant Variety Register since 2021. Plants reach a height of about 230 cm, with a cylindrical ear of 23-24 cm in length, attached at a height of 80-90 cm. The grain is yellow-orange, dent-shaped, with a 1000-grain weight of 280-290 g, 16 rows per ear, and 42-43 kernels per row. The hybrid is intended for grain production and is characterized by high and stable yield.
Atlant is distinguished by high drought and heat tolerance, rated at 9 points, as well as good resistance to short spring frosts. Plants have a well-developed root system and compact architecture, which ensures resistance to lodging and allows them to withstand prolonged drought during the vegetation period. The hybrid demonstrates high resistance to major diseases and pests, such as gray and southern corn borers, fusarium rots, and corn earworm.
In addition, Atlant has good moisture shedding at maturity and moderate early growth, responding well to improved growing conditions, including mineral fertilization and irrigation. The recommended plant density at harvest varies depending on moisture conditions: 80-100 thousand plants per hectare in areas with unstable moisture and 75-80 thousand plants per hectare under dry conditions. The hybrid is suitable for grain production, as well as for producing bioethanol, biogas, and silage.
