Maize Atlant 400 MV

A Reliable Bet for Stable Yields

Working with the Atlant 400 MV hybrid, you immediately notice its predictability. This Ukrainian hybrid, developed by the Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, is a reliable workhorse for those who prefer consistent results over farming gambles. The simple hybrid structure ensures highly uniform stands, which is crucial for optimizing combine settings during grain harvest or silage production.

Agronomic Nuances and Field Resilience

In the field, this hybrid holds its ground exceptionally well. Regarding plant health, Fusarium, loose smut, and common smut are rarely a concern when basic agronomic practices are followed. Notably, its resistance to the European corn borer significantly reduces the need for frequent insecticide applications and eliminates the risk of stalk lodging caused by pest damage.

Planting Density and Harvest

The FAO 400 maturity rating requires careful planning regarding sowing windows. Adhering to the recommended planting density of 75,000–80,000 plants/ha for grain and up to 100,000 plants/ha for silage delivers optimal results without overstressing the crop. The dent-type grain threshes easily, and the rate of moisture loss allows for efficient logistics during grain harvest.

• Grain type: Dent (high-quality yield).
• Application: Dual-purpose (grain and silage).
• Originator: IPPG NASU (genetics adapted to local soil conditions).
