Vilia is a medium-early (FAO 300) modified hybrid of sweet corn, Ukrainian selection, primarily intended for grain use. It is a universal type hybrid, also suitable for silage production. It is characterized by medium growth rate and medium rate of grain drying after maturity, ensuring optimal harvesting and storage conditions. Plant height reaches approximately 240 cm, with ear attachment height of 80 cm, and grain rows ranging from 14 to 16.
The Vilia hybrid features high yield potential up to 14 tons per hectare and resistance to major diseases and stress factors. It exhibits high resistance to common smut and corn leaf blight, as well as to corn borer, significantly reducing the risk of yield loss. Additionally, the hybrid shows good resistance to lodging, which is crucial for maintaining grain quality and harvesting convenience.
Recommended cultivation zones include the Polissia, Forest Steppe, and Steppe regions of Ukraine, indicating its adaptability to various climatic conditions. Soil temperature for sowing should be at least 10-12°C. Vilia responds well to the application of sulfanilurea herbicides without restrictions and demonstrates moderate adaptability to resource-saving and energy-saving cultivation technologies. The hybrid producer is the company Maïs, with the originator being APK MAÏS (Sinel'nikovo).
