Basalt 270 VS

Hybrid corn Basalt 270 VS is a medium-early, remontant hybrid with FAO 270, intended for grain production. It is characterized by very rapid water release, enabling effective use in various agronomic practices, both intensive and extensive. Plants have erectoid leaves and form large, dent-shaped kernels with a 1000-kernel weight of approximately 310–320 grams. Plant height reaches 260–270 cm, and ear attachment height is 80–90 cm, facilitating harvesting and high yields.

The hybrid exhibits high drought tolerance, making it especially valuable for regions with insufficient moisture. Recommended plant density at harvest varies depending on conditions: 75–85 thousand plants per hectare for adequately moist zones, and 60–70 thousand for less moist zones. Grain yield potential reaches 16 tons per hectare, confirming the hybrid’s high productivity.

Seed production is carried out using Austrian selection, ensuring quality and adaptation of the hybrid to various climatic conditions. Basalt 270 VS also has moderate cold tolerance, broadening its cultivation possibilities across different regions.
