Coriander BERGAMO

Genetic Potential and Morphology of "Bergamo"

The "Bergamo" coriander variety, brought to market by Ooo `Grinomika` (with Greenomica and Agromir-Don as originators), is a specialized selection designed for high-yield leafy green production. Unlike grain-oriented types, this variety is optimized for rapid vegetative growth, making it a professional-grade asset for commercial vegetable farming.

Key Technological Specifications

• Leaf-Type Productivity: The core strength of this hybrid is its delayed transition to the bolting (flowering) phase. Its genetic stress tolerance allows the plant to maintain a marketable leaf rosette for 10–14 days longer than conventional market equivalents.
• Plant Architecture: The plant develops a compact, vigorous basal rosette with upright petioles. This morphological trait keeps the leaf blades off the ground, effectively minimizing the risk of rot and fungal infections, which is critical in high-humidity cultivation environments.
• Adaptability to Photoperiod: The breeding process for "Bergamo" accounts for long daylight hours, significantly reducing the risk of premature bolting. This predictability allows producers to plan sequential harvesting cycles without compromising individual product quality.

Practical Significance for Production

Utilizing "Bergamo" in the field requires strict adherence to irrigation and nitrogen management protocols. The high growth rate of the green mass demands consistent nutrient availability during the early weeks of vegetation. However, due to its well-balanced leaf structure, the harvested product maintains high durability during medium-distance logistics. For agronomists, this variety serves as a tool for consistency; the predictable yield per unit area minimizes operational costs and allows for seamless integration into retail supply chains.
