Kochia AMULANGA – a variety of kochia characterized by a semi-upright shape and medium height. The plant has sparse hairiness, nodes colored ranging from light green to red, and leaves are linear, medium length and width with distinct hairiness. The inflorescences are light green panicles of medium length and loose structure.
The vegetative period of kochia AMULANGA lasts from the beginning of spring vegetation to the first mowing, comprising 82–93 days. The fodder value of the plant is high: protein content is 18.8%, while the total fodder value is 14.5–18.8% protein and 12.5–19% fiber. Average green mass yield over two years reached 33.2 c/ha, with dry matter content at 15.9 c/ha.
Kochia AMULANGA grows quickly and forms dense, symmetrical bushes, making it popular in landscape design. In autumn, the leaves are colored with bright shades of red and orange, creating a decorative effect. The plant is easy to grow both in open ground and at home: seeds germinate without difficulty provided light, temperature, watering, and fertilizing conditions are met. Due to drought resistance and the ability to maintain decorativeness from spring to late autumn, kochia AMULANGA is suitable for use as a green border, living fence, or accent in flowerbeds.
