Wheatgrass HOXREKH

Field Performance of the «Hosrekh» Wheatgrass

When selecting a reliable perennial forage crop, performance in the field is the primary metric. The «Hosrekh» variety, developed by the RosNIISK «Rossorgo» institute, is designed for long-term pasture and hay production. Its key advantage is resilience; once established, it requires minimal operational maintenance compared to high-input forage grasses.

Operational Characteristics

The plants grow between 40 and 150 cm tall, offering great flexibility for harvest scheduling. Depending on your feed requirements, you can time the harvest to maximize nutritional density or biomass volume. The ability of this crop to regrow quickly after grazing or cutting makes it an efficient tool for intensive forage management.

Management and Maintenance

From an operator's perspective, the initial establishment phase is the most critical. Once the root system is fully developed, the grass becomes remarkably aggressive against weeds, which significantly lowers herbicide expenditure. With standard fertilization practices, «Hosrekh» provides a consistent and predictable output. The variety, curated by experts V. I. Zhuzhukin, S. I. Gorbunov, and M. G. Chabaev, reflects high standards of breeding aimed at long-term profitability.

By choosing this variety, you are investing in a low-maintenance forage solution that thrives in local climates. It stands out for its stability and ease of integration into existing crop rotation or pasture improvement programs.
