UFIMETS is a variety of bluegrass obtained through selection under code 9154247. It is characterized by an upright bush of medium density and a height of up to 150 cm. The stem is smooth, round, hollow inside, hairless, with moderate coarseness. Nodes are stained with dark-brown shades.
The variety's leaves are linear, elongated-tapered, and slightly twisted along the edge, featuring a blue-green coloration. A waxy coating is present on the leaf surface, which enhances resistance to desiccation. Ears are narrow, two-sided, loose, 19–21 cm in length, light-blue in color, and hairless. Seeds – elongated grains of grayish-yellow color.
UFIMETS is distinguished by high yield: green mass reaches 282.1–350.7 c/ha, hay – 86.6–105.9 c/ha, and seeds – 4.7–8.2 c/ha. Foliage coverage is about 43%. The vegetative period from the start of spring vegetation to the first mowing lasts 55–63 days, and to full seed ripeness – 95–102 days. The variety is winter-hardy and drought-resistant, making it suitable for cultivation in all regions of the country.
