Clover SNEGHOK

Reliability in the field: operating the «Snezhok» clover

When selecting a clover variety for forage or landscape purposes, resilience against environmental stress is the priority. The «Snezhok» variety, developed by the N.V. Rudnitsky Federal Agrarian Scientific Center of the North-East, offers a practical solution for land managers looking to minimize maintenance while maximizing results. One of its most valuable traits is high resistance to root rot, which significantly reduces the need for constant chemical treatment.

Key performance factors

• High-quality forage: The variety produces dense green mass, making it an excellent source of nutrition. It is well-suited for multiple cuts, showing impressive regrowth speed after harvesting.
• Fungal resistance: Even in high-moisture conditions, where crops are prone to rot, «Snezhok» maintains a robust structure. This resilience is a key factor for those trying to reduce operational overhead.
• Pollinator friendly: The crop is a strong honey plant, creating a symbiotic benefit if you have hives nearby, significantly increasing activity in the area.

Operational experience and maintenance

Operating a field with «Snezhok» is straightforward. Whether you are aiming for a high-yield forage base or a durable lawn, the clover is notably forgiving. It is highly responsive to basic fertilization, yet it doesn’t require complex, high-maintenance regimes. Regarding repairability, the variety fills gaps well due to its active branching, keeping the stand dense. It is a cost-effective choice for those who value longevity and stability over fickle, high-maintenance high-input varieties.
