Clover ILEK

Why «Ilyok» is the Choice for Honey-Producing Landscapes

The «Ilyok» clover variety occupies a unique niche in plant breeding. Developed by selectionists Vladimir Chernyavskikh and Elena Dumacheva, this variety is positioned not merely as a decorative ground cover, but as a functional solution for areas requiring a balance between lawn aesthetics and productivity for apiculture.

Key Advantages and Specifications

• Honey-Producing Potential: Unlike standard lawn mixtures, «Ilyok» actively attracts pollinating insects. This makes it an ideal option for apiaries, orchards, and ecologically conscious homesteads.
• Use Case: The variety is specifically engineered for creating durable lawns. It forms a dense sward that is resistant to moderate foot traffic and well-adapted to the climatic conditions of Russia.
• Breeding Value: The development of this variety focused on trait stability. Vladimir Chernyavskikh holds the patent, ensuring the purity of the seed material and adherence to the authentic cultivation technology.

Who Is This Variety For?

«Ilyok» is optimal for property owners seeking a middle ground between a traditional green lawn and the promotion of local biodiversity. If your goal is to establish a lawn that does not require constant weeding (as the clover itself acts as the beneficial cover) and serves as a nectar source for bees, this variety is more cost-effective than standard grass monocultures. However, it is worth noting that due to high bee activity, such a lawn is not recommended for areas with active children's playgrounds or in immediate proximity to open home terraces.
