RUSTI

RUSTI is a variety of Persian clover (Trifolium resupinatum L.) with mid-season characteristics and included in the State Register of the Russian Federation. This variety is valued for its high protein content of up to 18%, making it an excellent forage crop both as a pure stand and in grass mixtures. RUSTI is capable of providing 3-4 cuttings per season, which significantly enhances its productivity and economic efficiency for agricultural needs.

The plant is characterized by an intermediate bush type with a straight and winding stem of medium thickness and a length of about 43 cm. Leaves are trifoliate, broadly egg-shaped, of medium size, and hairless. Inflorescences are spherical compound heads with white-pink flowers. The root system is taproot but weak, which requires careful attention to growing conditions. First seedlings appear on the 8th day after sowing, and the period to market readiness is 61-65 days.

The yield of the RUSTI variety for two cuttings reaches 550 centners of green mass per hectare and 76 centners of dry matter. However, pure stands may be subject to weed contamination, so the use of herbicides is recommended to maintain crop purity and maximum productivity. Thanks to resistance to Alternaria and high nutritional value, this variety is a reliable choice for forage production.
