PRIMORSKY 28 — a variety of clover (Trifolium pratense L.), registered and included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of Russia. This diploid two-cut variety is characterized by an average maturity period and is intended for cultivation in various regions, including the Primorsky Krai, the Middle Volga region, and other territories of the Far East. The vegetation period from spring regrowth to the first cutting is from 63 to 87 days, and to harvesting for seeds — 120-128 days, which allows obtaining stable yields under moderate climate conditions.
Morphologically, the variety is characterized by a large loose inflorescence head of bright pink color, sometimes double, as well as weak hairiness of leaves from the upper side. Seeds have a yellow and purple hue, the mass of 1000 seeds varies from 1.7 to 2.1 grams. Hard seediness is about 4.5%. The yield of dry matter reaches 37.4 centners per hectare, indicating the high productivity of the variety. However, the variety shows medium and strong susceptibility to diseases such as clover cancer, anthracnose, and powdery mildew.
PRIMORSKY 28 is characterized by good winter hardiness, comparable with the benchmark variety Primorsky 28 in the Primorsky Krai, although in the Amur region it is inferior to the Amur 11 variety in this indicator. The variety is recommended for use as a feed crop due to its high yield and adaptation to growing conditions in regions with a moderately cold climate. Its application contributes to the efficient use of land for the production of quality feed raw materials.
