Clover Krasunya

Practical Application in Farming

The 'Krasunya' clover variety, developed by the Institute of Sugar Beets of the UAAS, is a versatile tool for farmers focused on sustainable fodder production and soil health. Its practical utility covers three main operational scenarios:

• High-Protein Hay Production. This variety is valued for its ability to maintain leaf mass during drying, providing a stable source of protein for livestock winter rations.
• Intensive Grazing. Due to its excellent regrowth rate, 'Krasunya' is a superior component for pasture mixtures, reliably handling repeated grazing cycles throughout the season.
• Green Fodder Supply. Its early spring vegetation makes it an ideal source of fresh, nutrient-rich green matter during the early grazing period.

Agronomic Value and Ecosystem Benefits

The striking red inflorescences of this clover act as an attractor for pollinators, making it an excellent choice for farms engaged in apiculture. 'Krasunya' is widely recognized for its melliferous properties, providing a reliable honey flow during the flowering period. This dual-purpose utility — feeding livestock while supporting bees — adds significant value to the farm's annual revenue stream.

Beyond fodder, this variety functions as a natural fertilizer. As a legume, it fixes atmospheric nitrogen into the soil, substantially enhancing the fertility and structural integrity of the field for the following crops in the rotation. Choosing 'Krasunya' is a strategic investment in long-term soil productivity and high-quality feed management.
