Description Techlovan 2
The Techlovan cherry is a medium-late, high-yielding variety developed by Czech breeders through crossing the Van and Cordia varieties. The tree is vigorous, reaching 4-5 meters in height, with a spreading and moderately dense crown. It begins fruiting on the 3rd-4th year after planting. For successful cultivation, plant on sunny sites with well-drained, fertile soil, following a 4x4 meter spacing scheme. The variety is highly frost-resistant up to -25°C, allowing cultivation in various regions, including Ukraine.

Techlovan cherries are large, round or heart-shaped, weighing 8-12 grams and measuring about 30 mm in diameter. Their skin is dark red or burgundy, resistant to cracking and rot even during rainy weather, ensuring high marketability and long storage life. The flesh is firm, slightly fibrous, very sweet and aromatic, with a thick red juice that retains its color during processing. Due to these qualities, this variety is especially prized by sweet fruit lovers.

Techlovan exhibits high resistance to diseases such as powdery mildew and clasterosporiosis, and its fruits are highly transportable. The variety is self-incompatible, so pollinators are required for fruiting. Tree care includes spring pruning to shape the crown and remove unnecessary branches, timely fertilization, and disease treatments depending on plant condition and season. These characteristics make Techlovan cherry an excellent choice for both commercial cultivation and home gardeners.
