Cherries of the "Donetskaya Krasavitsa" variety are a Ukrainian cultivar developed at the Donetsk branch of the Institute of Horticulture of UAAN. This variety is characterized by medium ripening speed, with fruits typically reaching maturity in mid-June. The trees have high stable yield and enhanced frost and drought resistance, making them adaptable to various growing conditions. Additionally, the variety is resistant to coccomyces, contributing to plant health and fruit quality.
The fruits of "Donetskaya Krasavitsa" are large, weighing up to 10 grams, with dense flesh and a rich red color when fully ripe. They have an excellent dessert flavor, rated 4.75–5.0 points, and the stone separates easily from the flesh. Due to these characteristics, cherries are suitable for both fresh consumption and various culinary uses.
The trees flower in medium season, and for maximum yield, it is recommended to use pollinators such as varieties "Valeriy Chkalov", "Yaroslavna", "Etika", "Ugol'ek", and "Annuшка". The variety is self-fertile, but cross-pollination improves fruit quality and quantity. Seedlings 100–120 cm tall are usually grafted onto antipka rootstock and supplied in black stretch film packaging.
