Seedling of Bryansk Pink. Developed at the All-Russian Research Institute of Lupine. Author M.V. Kanshina. Introduced into the State Register since 1994 for the Central Region.
Medium-sized, fast-growing tree with moderate density; pyramidal crown, branches diverging at a large angle. Bud is large, vegetative egg-shaped, strongly deviated, generative oval. Leaves are large, broad, egg-shaped, dark green, thick, leathery, apex pointed, base rounded, double-finely serrated margin, flat blade, short petiole, pigmented throughout its length, medium thickness, bearing 2-3 large dark-colored glands. Inflorescence has 4 colors, medium-sized, saucer-shaped, petals arranged loosely, white, stigma positioned at the same level as stamens, calyx goblet-shaped, no serration, long stamens and pistils. Fruit set concentrated on bouquet branches (81%).
Fruit: average weight 4.7 g, maximum 7.7 g, height 19 mm, width 20 mm, thickness 19 mm, broadly rounded shape, wide depression, rounded apex with white spot, fruits dark red, almost black, flesh and juice dark red, flesh firm, pedicel medium length and thickness. Stone is oval, weight 0.29 g, 5.2% of fruit weight, light brown, rounded apex, broadly rounded base, separates easily from flesh. Fruits are attractive, juicy, sweet, flavor rating 4.9, dry detachment from pedicel, high transportability, versatile use, contains 18.8% dry matter, 12.6% sugars, 0.30% acids, 13.3 mg/100g ascorbic acid.
Medium flowering, late ripening. Enters fruiting at age 5. Self-pollination yields up to 5% fruit set. Best pollinators: Ovstuzhenka, Iput, Tyutchevka, Raditsa, Compacta, Venyaminova. High winter hardiness of the tree and flower buds; trunk and scaffold branch bases resistant to sunburn and frost cracks. After severe winters, tree damage was 0.4 points, buds 17%, pistils 76% at 3-5°C frost during flowering. Highly resistant to fungal diseases. Average yield 73 c/ha, maximum 112 c/ha.
Advantages of the variety: high winter hardiness and resistance to fungal diseases, high fruit quality.
