Cherries 'Amazonka' — a late-ripening variety developed by Ukrainian specialists through crossing 'Sestrenka' and 'Donetskaya Krasavitsa'. The tree is medium-sized with a medium-dense, rounded crown, beginning to bear fruit on the 4th-5th year after planting. The fruits are large, weighing 7–9 grams, round, slightly flattened, yellow in color with nearly full pink blush. The flesh is dense, yellow-pink, juicy with a cartilaginous texture, sweet with a slight acidity. The stone is medium-sized, round, and separates easily from the flesh.
The variety is characterized by high yield, which can reach 167 centners per hectare, and from one mature tree aged 10 years or older, 50–80 kg of fruit can be harvested. Harvesting maturity occurs at the end of July (approximately from the 20th to 30th), which is 10–15 days later than in 'Droghana Yellow'. Cherries 'Amazonka' require pollinators for fruiting.
The tree exhibits high cold resistance, tolerating temperatures down to -30°C without significant damage to wood and flower buds. The variety is resistant to coccomyces and fungal diseases, ensuring a stable and high-quality yield. Due to its dense flesh and sweet taste, the berries are ideal for fresh consumption and for making delicious preserves.
