Description Sharyinskaya
Introduced by P.P. Ivanov at the Kuybyshev Experimental Station for Fruit Growing in 1963 as a result of pollination of the Zarya Povолжья variety with a pollen mixture (Stakhanovka + 106/8 + Rastunyia). Under state variety trials since 1980.
Medium-sized tree, up to 2.5 m tall. Pyramidal, elevated, dense crown. Fruit-bearing on fruiting spurs and bouquet branches. Bark on trunk and main branches smooth, brown. Shoots medium, straight, brown. Buds few, medium, yellow. Leaves medium, egg-shaped, short-pointed, light green, smooth. Leaf blade flat, gradually tapers to the tip, base rounded, hairless. Leaf margin serrated. Petiole medium. Stipules weakly lobed, early falling. Stigmas small, few. Inflorescence — umbel. Flowers medium, white.
Fruits medium-sized, one-dimensional, average weight 2.6 g. Fruit shape round, apex rounded, base without indentation. Absence of ventral suture. Pedicel medium, easy detachment from branch, weak attachment to stone. Fruit color yellow-red, blurred. Skin medium, glabrous, with moderate waxy coating, difficult to remove. Flesh rose-colored, tender, juicy. Juice light-red. Flavor character sweet-sour. Fresh fruit rating — 4 points. Fruit appearance — 4 points. Stone medium, separates from flesh, medium, egg-shaped, blunt, smooth. Fruits contain dry matter — 20.2%, sugars — 13.02%, acids — 1.77%, ascorbic acid — 11.98 mg/100g. Dessert variety, suitable for making compotes. Good transportability.
Flowering — May 8-17. Fruits ripen in medium season. Poorly self-fertile. Best pollinators are Desertnaya Volzhskaya, Raspletka Saratovskaya, Davydovskaya. Enters fruiting stage at 4-5 years. Fruit harvest period July 15-20. Fruit consumption period July 15-25. Yield in 5-6-year-old trees around 6 kg per tree, in 7-9-year-old — 5-10 kg. Annual fruiting. Moderate fruit attachment strength.
Winter-hardy. During winter 1978-1979, trees had moderate frost damage of 0.5 points. No serious crown damage noted on any tree. Flower buds also resistant. Drought resistance medium. Affected by coccomycosis at medium level 1.5 points. Plum slugs damage fruits in individual years by 15-20%. Propagated by grafting onto Rastunyia, Vladimirskaya, Kostychevskaya. Requires elevated sites and light-textured soils. Due to rather dense crown, trees require pruning of excess branches.
Advantages of the variety: low tree height, compact, pyramidal crown, annual yield, tasty, sweet fruits above average size.
Disadvantages of the variety: crown thickening in young age, light-colored fruits.
