KDC RUBI

KDC Rubi is a mid-early variety of red lentil (Lens culinaris Medik.) recommended for cultivation in the Lipetsk region and the Central Black Earth regions. The vegetative period is 69–86 days, and plant height ranges from 23 to 46 cm. Plants have linear leaflets, small white flowers with a bluish vein on the sail, and inflorescences of two to three flowers.

The variety's seeds are small, convex, brown in color without a pattern, with a mass of 1000 seeds ranging from 26–32 g. Cotyledons are orange in color, and seedlings are characterized by anthocyanin pigmentation. A key characteristic is the protein content of up to 30%, making the product a valuable source of plant protein and ensuring excellent culinary evaluation.

KDC Rubi is distinguished by its resistance to lodging, shattering, and drought at standard levels, as well as low susceptibility to root rots. Yield in state trials reached 46.5 c/ha, with an average regional yield of about 19–20 c/ha and a maximum of 34.2 c/ha. Sowing is recommended early, when the soil warms up to 5–6 °C, using a sowing rate of 200–220 units/ha.

Thus, KDC Rubi is a highly effective lentil variety with good yield, high protein content, and resistance to adverse growing conditions, making it an attractive choice for farmers in the relevant regions.
