Oktava

The "Oktava" lentil variety is a high-quality product obtained through the breeding work of RASNIPTI. The medium-height plant (28–55 cm) has a short growing season of 60 to 83 days and is characterized by drought, lodging, and shattering resistance at the level of standard varieties.

Seeds of the "Oktava" variety are flat, yellow-green, medium-sized, and without a pattern. The mass of 1000 seeds is about 60–73 g, and the protein content reaches 27.8%. The high protein content makes the product valuable for both the food industry and home consumption.

Yield is consistently high: under conditions of the Saratov region, average yield is 2.17 t/ha, while maximum figures reach up to 33 t/ha. The plant is unpretentious, tolerates various soil types (loessial and loamy), making it suitable for both commercial cultivation and garden plots. Sowing is carried out in early spring after the soil thaws to a depth of 15–20 cm; seeds can be soaked in an "Epin" solution to increase yield.
