Satir

Ajowan 'Sathir' – a compact annual herbaceous variety with a height of about 35–40 cm and dense branching of stems. Leaves are dark green, entire-margined, slightly anthocyanous when young, and 15–25 mm long. The plant does not flop, which facilitates its cultivation in open ground.

The aroma and taste of ajowan 'Sathir' are particularly pronounced: a strong peppery note reminiscent of black pepper, and the aroma persists even after drying. This makes the variety in demand for home cooking (salads, soups, meat and vegetable dishes), as well as for flavoring vinegars, marinades, and pickling cucumbers.

Yield is high – up to 12.7 t/hectare during the vegetation period, and the maturity period is early (50–60 days from germination). Sowing is recommended in April–May with a density of 40×20 cm and a depth of 1–2 cm. Care includes loosening, weeding, and feeding, which allows obtaining a quality harvest without extra effort.
