Sprint

Thyme "Sprint" is an annual plant growing 35–39 cm tall, compact and bushy with an erect stem that slightly woody from the lower part. The leaves are lanceolate-linear, green, with a smooth surface, while the flowers are light-lavender, gathered in clusters of 2–3 pieces.

Sprint differs with a strong aroma and early ripening: from full germination to the beginning of flowering, it takes only 40–45 days. During the vegetation period, the plant yields greenery in a volume of about 1.72 kg per square meter. The mass of one plant is approximately 120 g, and the mass of 1000 seeds is 0.5–0.8 g.

The application of thyme "Sprint" is multifaceted: it is widely used in home cooking as a seasoning for salads, soups, meat and vegetable dishes; it also suits for aromatizing vinegars and marinades. Due to the strong aroma, thyme is often added during pickling cucumbers, and its cutting is produced during the mass flowering period when the plant is most saturated with essential oils.
