Carrot SHCHEGOLIKHA

Stable harvest for long-term storage

The "Shchegolikha" variety from "Dachnaya Akademiya" is designed for growers focused on high-quality commercial carrots with extended shelf life. With a vegetation period of 120–130 days, this variety fits perfectly into the mid-late harvest schedule, allowing for harvesting before the first heavy frosts.

Practical application in the field

• Storage: The dense internal structure of the roots ensures minimal losses during warehouse storage. "Shchegolikha" maintains excellent turgor and flavor throughout the winter season.
• Processing: The perfect cylindrical shape, with a length of 20–25 cm, simplifies mechanical cleaning and processing on industrial lines, significantly reducing waste.
• Early Start: The variety performs well when sown under plastic film. This technology allows for an earlier, more uniform yield, which is crucial for farms targeting the fresh produce market.

The breeding work of Yuri Dmitrievich Tarasov prioritizes technical efficiency: the roots feature a deep orange color, which is a major factor for consumer appeal. Utilizing "Shchegolikha" allows growers to meet multiple requirements: from stocking their own warehouses with high-quality produce to supplying retail chains that demand standardized root sizes and shapes.
