Carrot CHAMPION is a mid-late, high-yielding hybrid of Dutch selection, of the Nantes type, intended for cultivation in open ground. The maturity period is 120-125 days, allowing this variety to be grown in various climatic conditions, including northern and southern regions of Russia. The leaf rosette is dark green and robust, which promotes good plant development. The seeding rate is 0.9-1.0 million seeds per hectare, and it is recommended to sow in late season into well-heated soil, avoiding early sowings. Carrot CHAMPION roots are cylindrical, 20-25 cm long, and weigh 100-200 grams. They are smooth, uniform, and have a bright orange, saturated color both in the skin and flesh. The flesh has excellent taste qualities, a small core, and high carotene content — up to 17.2 mg per 100 g of raw material. Dry matter content is 13.1%, and total sugar content is 6.8%. The hybrid is resistant to cracking, which enhances its market quality and suitability for mechanical harvesting. Carrot CHAMPION is suitable for both fresh marketing and processing. It features high yield — 8-9 kg per square meter — and long storage capability up to 6-7 months, making it convenient for winter use. Due to its characteristics, this hybrid is ideal for producing large roots with high mass at a more sparse planting density, allowing cultivation to be adapted to different needs.
