Rogneda

Rogneda is a mid-season carrot variety that reaches technical maturity 105-108 days after full germination. The roots have predominantly cylindrical or truncated-conical shape, colored bright orange with a smooth surface and weakly expressed eyes. The flesh and core are also bright orange, indicating a high content of carotene. The mass of one root is about 90-100 grams, and the rooting depth is complete, which facilitates their pulling during harvest.

The yield of the variety reaches 5.9-6.5 kg per square meter, which makes it attractive for growing both in personal plots and for commercial purposes. The taste qualities of Rogneda carrots are excellent, and the universal use allows it to be used both in fresh form and for processing. The storage capacity of the roots is good, which ensures long-term storage without loss of quality.

For successful growing, it is recommended to sow seeds into the ground at the end of April – beginning of May at a depth of 0.5-2 cm depending on the soil type, with a distance between rows of about 15 cm. Optimal soils are light loamy and sandy loam. Seeds begin to germinate at a temperature of 3-4°C, and the optimal temperature for growth and formation of roots is 20-22°C. Care for plants includes regular maintenance of soil moisture, weeding, watering, and loosening as needed. Grown seedlings are recommended to be thinned, leaving 5-7 cm between plants to ensure good root development.
