Eggplant Bandit

The High-Yielding Character of 'Razboynik'

The 'Razboynik' eggplant from Agrofirma Aelita is a top choice for those who value compactness and predictable results. Developed by breeders Nastenko, Kachaynik, and Gulkin, this variety stands out for its resilience and ability to produce stable yields in both greenhouses and open fields. It is a reliable, high-quality choice for home gardening.

Key Fruit Characteristics

• Weight: 200–300 grams — the optimal size for stuffing or grilling.
• Shape: Rounded, which is uncommon for classic varieties and simplifies processing and slicing.
• Color: Deep dark violet, indicating a high concentration of anthocyanins.
• Length: 12–25 cm, making the fruits compact and easy to handle.

Strengths and Cultivation Nuances

The primary advantage of 'Razboynik' is its adaptability. With a maturity period of 90–100 days from germination, it is well-suited for shorter summer seasons in temperate climates. The rounded fruits sit firmly on the bush without overloading the plant, reducing the risk of stem lodging.

However, it is important to note: like any eggplant, this variety requires careful irrigation. A lack of moisture can lead to bitterness in the fruit, while excessive moisture can increase susceptibility to fungal diseases in greenhouse environments. This variety is optimal for growers seeking a balance between ease of maintenance and an aesthetically pleasing harvest.
