Carrot variety New Year Caramel is an early-maturing variety with a cylindrical rootstock of orange color, about 15-20 cm long and weighing from 80 to 170 grams. The rootstock has a thin core and a blunt tip, differs in juiciness, sweet taste and high carotene content, reaching up to 25.5 mg per 100 g of raw substance. The leaves of the plant are long, dark green, up to 40 cm high, with an upright rosette. The variety is characterized by stable yield, which can reach 6.5-8.7 kg per square meter, and the commercial yield is 307-384 centners per hectare with a 75-79% output of commercial product. New Year Caramel is universal in application: it is excellent for fresh consumption, canning, freezing and long-term winter storage. Due to high sugar content (6.0-7.7%) and vitamins (A, B1, B2, B3, B6, B7, C, E, K), as well as minerals (selenium, sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, copper, zinc, cobalt), carrots of this variety are a valuable product for healthy eating. It also perfectly suits for the production of fresh carrot juices and smoothies, especially in the summer period. Growing New Year Caramel carrots does not require complex care. Seeds are planted in spring or autumn in well-lit areas with loose fertile soil, preferably after cabbage, potatoes, legumes, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions or garlic. Sowing is done manually to a depth of 2-3 cm with row spacing of 15-20 cm. Seeds are already prepared for sowing and do not require additional processing. Young plants are resistant to short-term frosts down to -3-4 °C. Organic fertilizers for a good harvest are not mandatory, which simplifies agronomy and makes the variety accessible for growing in various conditions.
