Carrot variety «Divo Divnoe» belongs to mid-season varieties and forms a crop in about 115 days from germination. The roots of this variety are cylindrical, 18-20 cm long and weighing from 110 to 190 grams. They differ by a smooth, uniform surface and a blunt tip, practically without a core. The carrot flesh is dark orange, very sweet, juicy and tasty, which makes this variety attractive both for fresh consumption and for processing into juices and long-term storage.
Variety «Divo Divnoe» has high resistance to a number of diseases, including alternaria, black leg, cercosporosis and black spot. It tolerates heavy soils well, which expands the possibilities of its cultivation in various climatic and soil conditions. The leaf rosette of the plant varies from erect to semi-spreading, which contributes to the good development of the roots.
Agrotechnology of cultivation includes sowing seeds at the end of April – beginning of May in well-moistened, loose and fertile soil to a depth of 1.5-2 cm with interrows of 20 cm and distance between plants of 4 cm. To accelerate germination and retain moisture, seeds can be covered with non-woven covering material. An important stage is thinning seedlings to 5-7 cm to form large and uniform roots. Regular watering, soil loosening and feeding are required during the growing season, while fresh organic fertilizers are not recommended. Soil moisture should be kept uniform to avoid cracking of the roots. To obtain an early crop, winter sowing is possible at the end of October – beginning of November. The storage period of the carrot reaches up to 4 years when stored in a dry and cool place.
