Description
The Dobrynia carrot variety belongs to medium-maturing varieties, with a period from germination to technical maturity of 85-105 days. The root crops have a conical shape with a slightly pointed tip and a length of up to 18-20 cm. The mass of one root crop ranges from 110 to 200 grams. The skin and core coloring is bright orange, indicating high carotene and sugar content, which gives the carrot excellent taste qualities. The leaf rosette is semi-spreading, and the root crops are distinguished by uniformity and high-quality marketable qualities.
For planting, it is recommended to choose well-lit areas with loose fertile loamy or light clayey soil with a deep plowed layer. The best predecessors for Dobrynia carrot are cabbage, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, and early potatoes. Sowing is done at the end of April – beginning of May at a depth of about 1 cm with a distance between rows of 20 cm, which ensures optimal conditions for plant growth and development.
Dobrynia carrot is universal in application: it is suitable for preparing fresh diet salads, vegetable puree, juices, as well as first and second courses. Due to the increased content of carotene and sugar, as well as good storability, this variety is suitable for long-term storage. The yield ranges from 2.2 to 4.3 kg per square meter, which makes the variety attractive for cultivation in various regions.
