Bolivar

Bolivar F1 carrot is a mid-season hybrid of the Shantane type with a vegetative period of 110–115 days. This hybrid is characterized by high adaptability and is suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones and soil types in Ukraine, including late sowing. Plants form a strong leaf canopy tightly attached to the root, facilitating harvesting and ensuring good transportability of the crop.

The roots of Bolivar carrots have a conical shape with a rounded tip, measuring 16–18 cm in length and 4–5 cm in diameter at the top and 2.5–3.9 cm at the bottom. They feature a bright orange color, smooth skin without eyes, and a uniform dense structure with a small core. The flesh is dense, crisp, and very tasty, with high carotene content (up to 22 mg per 100 g dry matter) and sugar content (7–7.2%), making this hybrid particularly nutritious.

Bolivar F1 is versatile: roots are suitable for fresh consumption, long-term storage (up to 8 months), processing, canning, freezing, as well as for juice and baby food production. The hybrid is resistant to major diseases such as cercospora, alternaria, and black leg, but requires protection against pests, such as carrot fly. The recommended planting density is 0.8–0.9 million seeds per hectare, and with proper care, yields reach 10–12 kg per square meter.
