Brilliant F1 carrot is a late nantaise hybrid developed by the breeding company Nunhems Zaden. This variety is characterized by a long vegetative period of about 135 days and is intended for cultivation in various climatic conditions, performing particularly well on light, loose, and fertile soils. The root crops have a cylindrical shape, a length from 18 to 23 cm and a diameter of 4-5 cm, weighing from 100 to 200 g. Their bright orange color without green spots and smooth surface make the carrot attractive to consumers and convenient for mechanized harvest. Hybrid Brillant F1 is distinguished by high yield - up to 7 kg per square meter, as well as resistance to main diseases, such as alternaria, cercosporosis and false powdery mildew. Due to high tolerance to diseases occurring during storage, the carrot retains its qualities for 2-3 months. It is also resistant to cracking and brittleness during harvest, which allows the use of modern machinery for harvesting and subsequent washing of root crops. Brillant F1 carrot has a high sugar content (10-11.5%) and carotene (22 mg), which makes it universal for various purposes: fresh consumption, salad preparation and other dishes, as well as for the production of juices and baby food. The recommended sowing density is from 0.8 to 1.4 million plants per hectare, and the sowing period - from March to May. Thanks to its characteristics, this hybrid is ideal for cultivation for the fresh market, as well as for long-term storage and processing.
