The 'Charlotte' carrot variety is a mid-season, high-yield type of Shantane that is distinguished by a long growing period of about 95-100 days. The root crops have an elongated-conical shape with weak tapering and a pointed or slightly blunted base. Their length varies from 12 to 18 centimeters, and their mass ranges from 100 to 300 grams. The core and bark are a rich orange color, indicating a high carotene content—up to 7.4 mg per 100 g of raw substance. The dry matter content is within 9.7-12.2%, while the total sugar is 5.8-7.1%, providing good to excellent taste qualities.

The leaves of the 'Charlotte' carrot are very long, dark green, and deeply lobed, forming a semi-loose rosette. The variety is characterized by high resistance to cracking and bolting, as well as significant resistance to diseases such as Alternaria and powdery mildew. Thanks to these characteristics and the ability to be harvested mechanically, the variety is suitable for industrial cultivation.

The 'Charlotte' carrot is intended for fresh consumption, processing, and winter storage. The yield of the variety ranges from 400 to 620 centners per hectare, which is 42-82 centners higher than the Shantane 2461 standard, with a maximum yield of up to 758 centners per hectare. The output of marketable products reaches 70-91%, which makes this variety attractive to farmers and vegetable producers.
