Carrot Elegance — a late hybrid of the Nantes type, developed by the breeding company Nunhems Zaden from the Netherlands. This variety is characterized by high germination energy and stable seed quality, ensuring uniform and early emergence. The vegetative period ranges from 125 to 140 days, depending on growing conditions. Elegance is well-adapted to various agroclimatic regions and prefers loose, nutrient-rich soils with moderate moisture and high solar activity.
The carrots of Elegance have a cylindrical shape, smooth surface, and deep orange color without green specks. The root length reaches 18–20 cm, the diameter — 5–6 cm, and the average weight varies from 150 to 200 grams. The carrot is distinguished by high density and firmness, ensuring resistance to breakage and cracking. The carotene content in the flesh reaches 20.5 mg per 100 g, and the sugar concentration — up to 7.5%, giving the vegetable a pleasant taste and high nutritional value.
The hybrid is resistant to major diseases such as alternaria, powdery mildew, and cercospora, reducing the need for frequent chemical treatments. Carrot Elegance is suitable for cultivation in open ground, sown into warmed and fertilized soil, following crop rotation, and with regular care including moderate watering, loosening, and fertilization with potassium, nitrogen fertilizers, superphosphate, and organic matter. The harvest is collected mechanically, and the fruits are well-transportable and can be stored for 5 to 9 months without loss of flavor or commercial quality. This variety is widely used both on fresh markets and for processing — for making juices, purées, freezing, and drying.
