Bluegrass YULIUS

The Foundation for High-Traffic Performance

Kentucky bluegrass 'Julius' from the Danish seed specialist DLF is the go-to solution for professionals managing high-traffic areas. Unlike standard varieties, 'Julius' is engineered for superior turf density, making it a cornerstone for professional sports pitches and premium landscape projects.

Core Benefits

• Elite Wear Tolerance: Developed by Dlf Seeds A/S, the variety focuses on rapid recovery after mechanical stress, which is vital for athletic performance.
• Disease Resistance: It shows high tolerance to common turf pathogens, effectively reducing the need for chemical fungicide treatments.
• Aesthetic Appeal: The mid-green leaf color maintains its consistency throughout the growing season, delivering a uniform and lush appearance.

While Kentucky bluegrass is known for a slower establishment (germination in 14–20 days), 'Julius' excels due to its vigorous root system development immediately following emergence. This creates a stable turf mat that resists thinning, even under continuous heavy use.

Seeding Guidelines

To achieve professional-grade results on sports pitches, we recommend a seeding rate of 25–30 g/m². For high-density decorative lawn applications, a rate of 20–25 g/m² is sufficient. Success requires proper soil preparation and consistent irrigation during the germination phase. 'Julius' is a long-term investment in turf durability, ultimately minimizing your costs for overseeding and renovation.
