MegasBlue is a powerful semi-spreading bush about 1.5 meters tall and up to 1.2 meters wide. The plant is highly winter-hardy, able to withstand short-term frosts down to -30°C, making it suitable for cultivation in cold-climate regions. The plant’s dormancy period is about 1000 hours. The bushes have decorative pink flowers during blooming, adding aesthetic value to plantings.
The berries of MegasBlue are large, with a diameter of 18 to 21 mm, dark blue in color without red hues. The fruits are firm, crisp, with juicy and elastic flesh, possessing a pleasant balanced flavor with mild sweetness and moderate acidity. The berry skin is tough, ensuring good storage quality after harvest and allowing the variety to be used for long-term storage and transportation. Ripening begins at the end of July and continues until early August, with harvest not prolonged over time.
The variety is characterized by high yield — up to 7 kg per bush, which, with proper care and presence of pollinators, can reach over 25 tons per hectare. MegasBlue is suitable for both manual and mechanized berry harvesting, but requires attentive and regular pruning to maintain high productivity. Due to its qualities and stable fruiting, this variety is an excellent choice for commercial cultivation and fresh market sales.
