Patriot

Patriot blueberry is a large-fruited, mid-early maturing commercial variety, popular for its high taste quality and yield. The bushes are vigorous, reaching heights of 140 to 180 cm, with numerous strong branches and decorative rounded crowns. Berries are large, up to 18 mm in diameter, flattened, light-blue in color with a waxy coating, firm skin, and a pleasant spicy aroma. The berries have a sweet flavor with a slight tartness, making them particularly attractive to consumers.

The Patriot variety is characterized by high yield, ranging from 4.5 to 9 kg per bush, depending on growing conditions. Berries form in clusters, facilitating harvesting, which begins in mid-July and continues until early August. To achieve maximum berry size and quality, blueberries should be planted in sunny locations with acidic peat substrate and provided with adequate watering during growth and ripening. Plants require regular pruning and thinning of flower buds to maintain health and productivity.

Patriot exhibits high resistance to diseases, including Phytophtora cinnamomi, and very high cold tolerance, surviving temperatures down to -34 to -40°C. This makes the variety suitable for cultivation in regions with harsh winters. Due to its characteristics, the Patriot variety is an excellent choice for both commercial cultivation and private gardeners seeking large, aromatic, and flavorful blueberries.
