The Cargo blueberry variety is a tall shrub of medium growth, reaching heights of 1.2 to 1.8 meters. The bush is moderately spreading with strong branches and moderate crown density, ensuring good lighting and ease of harvesting. This variety was developed in the USA in 1941 and is characterized by high winter hardiness, allowing successful cultivation in various climatic conditions.

The berries of the Cargo blueberry are large, 18-20 mm in diameter, dark blue with a distinct waxy coating, sweet with a slight tartness and a rich aroma. The fruits are borne in dense clusters that remain firmly attached to the branches, do not drop or crack, contributing to their excellent storage and transport qualities. The yield of this variety ranges from 6 to 9 kg per bush, with a ripening period in August-September, making it a late-ripening variety.

For successful cultivation of Cargo blueberry, light, well-drained soil with a pH of 3.8-4.8 is required, preferably peat, loamy, or sandy soil. An important agronomic practice is regular mulching, which helps maintain optimal soil acidity and moisture. Pruning is performed in early spring before bud break and includes sanitary removal of dry and weak branches in the first years, followed by shaping the bush by removing old stems to stimulate new growth. The variety is suitable for both commercial cultivation and fresh consumption, processing, and freezing.
