Blackberry DrisBlackTen

Premium blackberry genetics from Driscoll’s

"DrisBlackTen" is a selection product from the American corporation Driscoll’s, developed for growers seeking the perfect balance between early maturity and outstanding dessert flavor. Created by originators Gavin R. Sills, Andrea M. Pabon, and Mark F. Crusha, this variety establishes new benchmarks for the fresh produce market.

Key features and agrotechnics

This variety is distinguished by its large, oval-shaped fruit (up to 6 cm), making it highly attractive for retail and direct sales. The berries feature a deep black color and a sweet flavor profile typical of the brand's premium lines. A notable structural characteristic is its growth habit: "DrisBlackTen" produces both erect and semi-erect canes. While this necessitates proper trellis management, it ensures convenient access to the harvest.

Strengths and considerations

• Advantages: The early harvest window allows for market entry when prices are at their peak. A 6 cm berry size ensures high visibility and shelf appeal. The variety propagates easily, facilitating efficient orchard scaling.
• Operational notes: The presence of thorns requires careful handling during cultivation and harvesting procedures.

"DrisBlackTen" is an optimal choice for commercial producers focused on the fresh dessert market. Thanks to stable genetics and the proven Driscoll’s pedigree, the variety minimizes quality loss during transit, maintaining its aesthetic appeal and superior taste even after long-distance logistics.
