SHALUN

Vegetable basil of the 'Shalun' variety is a small-leaved, highly decorative, and aromatic variety with a rich clove scent. The plant is compact and low-growing, reaching a height of up to 30 cm, forming numerous side shoots, which makes it particularly suitable for growing both in open ground and at home on a windowsill or balcony. This variety is distinguished by its high resistance to diseases, which facilitates care and increases the chances of a good harvest. For successful cultivation of 'Shalun' basil, it is recommended to use well-drained loamy or loamy sandy soils, as well as to provide moderate watering, loosening, and feeding. Seeds can be sown for seedlings at the end of March, and into open ground in mid-May, after the threat of frost has passed. The plant recovers quickly after radical pruning, which allows for regular harvesting of fresh leaves throughout the season, stimulating bushiness and improving leaf taste if flowering is avoided.

'Shalun' basil is widely used in cooking as an aromatic spice for various dishes and preserving. The yield of the variety is approximately 1.5-1.8 kg per square meter, which makes it not only decorative but also a productive plant. Thanks to its compactness and resilience, this basil is excellent for growing at home, allowing you to enjoy fresh aromatic leaves all year round.
