Dill variety 'Uzbeksky 243' is a late-maturing and cold-hardy variety with powerful, densely foliated plants ranging from 85 to 135 cm in height. Leaves are large, measuring 28-36 cm in length and 30-36 cm in width, dark green with a bluish tint, juicy, tender, and very aromatic due to high essential oil content. Plants differ in slow stem formation, which ensures a long period of commercial usability for greens and allows for harvest over an extended period. Green yield upon harvesting reaches up to 5.5 kg per square meter.
The variety is characterized by a bushy form with short and close internodes in the lower part of the bush. Umbels form late, which under some climatic conditions may hinder seed setting in summer sowing. Up to 23-25 large leaves form in the rosette before the start of stem elongation, which contributes to high green productivity. Repeated harvesting with regular breaking of 2-3 leaves from the lower tier each week is recommended, which allows maintaining a continuous supply of fresh greens for a month after one sowing.
Sowing of dill 'Uzbeksky 243' is carried out in open ground at the end of April - beginning of May to a depth of 0.5-1 cm with a row spacing of 5-10 cm. For continuous green production, repeated sowings with an interval of 14-20 days until mid-August are possible. Care for plants includes weeding, watering, and top-dressing. Due to rapid regrowth after cutting and disease resistance, this variety is an excellent choice for growing aromatic greens in various climatic conditions.
