SERP is a winter barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) variety intended primarily for grain-forage use. It belongs to mid-season, multi-row varieties with high yield and lodging resistance. The mass of 1000 grains ranges from 40 to 56 grams, while the protein content in the grain is from 9.6% to 12.3%, ensuring high-quality fodder grain. The potential yield of the variety reaches over 110 centners per hectare, making it attractive for cultivation in the Central zone of the Krasnodar Krai and the North Caucasus region. The variety is characterized by a mid-late vegetative period and medium height, which facilitates its adaptation to various agro-climatic conditions. SERP exhibits high resistance to shattering and dwarf rust, net and dark purple spot, as well as powdery mildew, significantly reducing yield losses and enhancing production stability. Frost and drought resistance are at a medium level, while soil acidity tolerance expands cultivation possibilities on various soil types. A feature of SERP barley is its hulled grain, covered with floral glumes, contributing to long-term seed viability retention. Thanks to a shorter vegetative period compared to other winter crops, this variety ripens earlier, facilitating harvest collection and reducing stress on farmers. High spike productivity and medium tillering ensure optimal yield formation when recommended agronomic practices are followed.
