The Versail winter barley variety is a mid-season forage barley developed based on the Cyclone variety, focusing on high disease resistance and grain size. It is characterized by yellow grains of medium-elongated shape and medium size, with a 1000-grain weight ranging from 45 to 56 grams. Versail forms well, producing over 750 productive stems per square meter, contributing to a high potential yield of up to 110 c/ha. The variety is resistant to lodging, shattering, and waterlogging, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. Versail exhibits high resistance to major barley diseases such as powdery mildew, dwarf rust, net and dark-brown speckling, as well as septoria. Moreover, the variety demonstrates high drought tolerance and resistance to lodging, allowing for successful cultivation in regions with variable weather conditions. It responds well to fertilizer application, which further enhances its productivity and crop quality. The variety is recommended for cultivation in Krasnodar and Stavropol Krai, as well as the North Caucasus region.
