Winter barley variety MIP Jason is a medium-maturing grain variety with a vegetation period of 245 to 260 days. It belongs to the rytovoid paliadiums and was registered by the Ukrainian Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 2017-2018. The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness and drought resistance, making it a reliable choice for various climatic zones, including Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe.
MIP Jason exhibits high resistance to major barley diseases such as powdery mildew, leaf spots, and dwarf rust, confirmed by a 6-point resistance rating. Additionally, the variety is resistant to lodging and shattering, which helps preserve yield and improve its quality. The thousand-grain weight ranges from 46 to 50 grams, indicating good grain quality.
The yield of variety MIP Jason was confirmed during the state qualification examination, reaching 10.13 tons per hectare. This variety is recommended for grain use and is suitable for cultivation under various agroclimatic conditions in Ukraine. The development and introduction of this variety were carried out by the Myronivs'k Institute of Wheat named after V. M. Remesla, NAS of Ukraine, ensuring high quality and reliability of the seed material.
