FORTUNA — a medium-maturing malting and food barley variety, distinguished by its large grain and high yield. Plants of this variety have short and sturdy straw, providing high resistance to lodging. FORTUNA barley demonstrates good drought resistance and resistance to a range of diseases, including powdery mildew, rhynchosporium, brown rust, and net blight. Thanks to these qualities, the variety shows particularly good results in the Central and Middle Volga regions, specifically in the Kaluga and Moscow regions.

The variety is characterized by a high thousand-grain weight and grain size of more than 2.5 mm, which positively affects the quality of the crop. FORTUNA belongs to medium-maturing varieties with early heading and ripening. It is moderately resistant to loose smut and net blotch, moderately resistant to brown rust, and moderately susceptible to root rots. Average yield in the Central region reaches 30.6 c/ha, confirming its high productivity.

This barley is suitable for cultivation in various agro-climatic conditions due to its resistance to adverse factors and diseases.
