Description DMITRIEVSKY 5
DMITRIEVSKY 5 is a spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) variety belonging to medium-early grain-forage crops. The vegetation period ranges from 67 to 82 days, allowing the variety to mature 1-2 days earlier or later than some standard varieties such as Kamyshinsky 23 and Nutans 553. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 41 to 53 grams, while the protein content in the grain ranges from 10.5% to 17.8%, making it valuable for forage purposes. The variety is characterized by lodging resistance at the level of standard varieties and has enhanced drought resistance, exceeding this indicator by 0.5-1.0 points compared to some analogues. Recommendations for cultivating the DMITRIEVSKY 5 variety include various regions, such as the Right Bank zone of the Volgograd region with its common and southern chernozems, as well as light chestnut and brown soils, the Perm region, and the Lower Volga region. Average yield in the specified regions reaches 9.6 centners per hectare, indicating the high productivity of the variety when agricultural technology requirements are met. However, the variety is susceptible to certain diseases, such as powdery and stone smut, and is highly susceptible to striped mosaic, which requires the application of appropriate protective measures during cultivation. The producer of the variety is the Federal Research Center for Agroecology, Complex Reclamation and Protective Forestry of the RAS. The variety has been included in the state register since 2014 and has a product patent. Thanks to its characteristics and adaptation to various soil and climatic conditions, DMITRIEVSKY 5 is a reliable choice for agricultural enterprises focused on obtaining high-quality grain for forage purposes.
