Memory of the Motherland is a medium-early spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) variety characterized by medium height and the formation of large grains. The variety was registered in 2014 and recommended for cultivation in the Volga-Vyatsky region, in particular in the Kirov and Nizhny Novgorod regions. The average yield of the variety in the region is approximately 32.9 c/ha, while maximum figures reach 6.2–8.0 t/ha.

This variety is distinguished by high resistance to lodging, medium drought resistance, and moderate resistance to diseases, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions of the region. The grain of the variety is large with excellent technological characteristics: grain natural weight reaches 682 g/l, uniformity is 94.7%, hulling is 8.6%. Starch content is 53.4%, and extractability is 75.9%, indicating high quality of raw material for processing. The protein content varies within 10.3–14.5%, which further underscores the value of the variety.

The origin of the variety is associated with breeding based on the hybrid Thuringie x Ecolog, variety type — nuant. The variety is included in the state register of breeding achievements and meets the requirements of GOST, which confirms its quality and suitability for industrial cultivation. Thanks to its characteristics, Memory of the Motherland is a valuable barley variety suitable for use in the food and feed industries.
