Barley Etiket

Field Performance of Etiket Spring Barley

For those managing large-scale cereal production, the 'Etiket' spring barley, developed by the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute, offers a reliable return on investment. As a two-row variety, it is designed for predictability, typically completing its vegetative cycle within 80-90 days. This makes it a dependable choice for farmers who need to fit cereal crops into a tight seasonal rotation.

Disease Resilience and Maintenance

The operational advantage of Etiket lies in its genetic resistance profile. By remaining naturally resistant to helminthosporiosis, net blotch, powdery mildew, and dwarf rust, it significantly reduces the need for frequent fungicide interventions. For a farm manager, this translates into lower input costs and fewer passes through the field, simplifying the overall crop management strategy.

Harvesting Efficiency

The plant height (60-70 cm) is engineered for minimal lodging, which is critical for smooth mechanical harvesting. Combined with a 1,000-kernel weight of 48-50 grams, this ensures a high-quality, plump grain that meets market standards. The plant is efficient at biomass conversion, focusing energy into the head rather than excessive straw production.

• Consistency: Highly predictable maturation cycle.
• Low Maintenance: Strong resistance to primary pathogens reduces chemical requirements.
• Ease of Harvest: Ideal height and stem strength minimize grain loss.

Etiket is a robust, professional-grade selection designed to perform consistently under standard field conditions, ensuring both ease of handling and high output.
