Eggplant Begemot F1

Consistent Yields in Protected Environments

When selecting a hybrid for greenhouse production, "Begemot F1" from Gavrish stands out primarily for its predictability. This is a case where the final result perfectly matches the breeder's specifications. Under greenhouse conditions, the plant shows excellent establishment, and the 110–115 day maturity period allows for precise planning of planting cycles.

Fruit Characteristics and Harvest

The fruits of this hybrid feature a classic pear shape, making them suitable for both fresh market sales and processing. The deep purple color is visually appealing, while the skin is firm enough to withstand transport without compromising its marketability. With a fruit weight between 320 and 370 grams and a length of 14–18 cm, "Begemot" demonstrates excellent uniformity, which significantly simplifies the sorting and packaging process. You won't face the issue of uneven harvest sizes, which is crucial for maintaining consistent commercial batches.

Practical Care Tips

Experience working with "Begemot F1" shows that standard but consistent agronomic practices are key to unlocking its potential. The hybrid is responsive to irrigation and fertilization, though it is vital to avoid waterlogging the root system within the greenhouse. Due to the plant's robust nature and heavy fruit load, timely pruning and staking are necessary to prevent the stems from bending under pressure. By maintaining proper ventilation in the greenhouse, you minimize the risk of fungal diseases, to which this hybrid shows moderate resistance under correct management.
